Endorsed variation event—Yancoal 2016

On 14 December 2017, we approved the adjustment charges arising from the Yancoal 2016 encorsed variation event. The adjustment charges, submitted by Queensland Rail on 29 November 2017, refund a portion of access charges paid between 1 January 2017 and 9 November 2017.

We approved Queensland Rail’s application on 9 November 2017 to vary reference tariffs on the West Moreton Network as a result of an endorsed variation event.

Queensland Rail submitted its initial application on 22 March 2017, and amended it on 20 October 2017 to take into account stakeholders’ feedback. It sought to reduce the West Moreton reference tariffs to reflect an increased number of contracted train paths from Yancoal’s Cameby Downs mine.

We were satisfied that the requirements for an endorsed variation event were met and approved the revised application.
