Aurizon Network’s approved 2017 access undertaking provides for it to apply, at any time, to vary reference tariffs.
Endorsed variation event—QCA levy, 2026–27
On 20 August 2026, we approved Aurizon Network’s proposed adjustment to the QCA levy for 2026-27, arising from changes to the QCA fees. The revised reference tariffs take effect on 1 September 2026.
On 21 May 2026, Aurizon Network submitted a proposal that sought to reduce the electric energy charge reference tariff from $1.27 to $1.18 (per egtk’000) tariff for 2026–27.
On 21 August 2025, we approved Aurizon Network’s proposed adjustment to the QCA levy for 2025-26, arising from changes to the QCA fees. The revised reference tariffs take effect on 1 September 2025.
On 21 May 2025, Aurizon Network submitted a proposal that seeks to increase the electric energy charge (EC) tariff for 2025–26 from $1.24 to $1.27 (per eGTK’000), which takes effect on 1 July 2025.
On 31 May 2024, Aurizon Network submitted a proposal that seeks to reduce the electric energy charge (EC) tariff for 2024–25 from $1.66 to $1.24 (per eGTK’000), which takes effect on 1 July 2024.
On 24 August 2023, we approved Aurizon Network’s proposed adjustment to the QCA levy for 2023-24, arising from changes to the QCA fees. The revised reference tariffs took effect on 1 September 2023.
Aurizon Network proposed on July 2022, to adjust reference tariffs for 2022–23 to reflect the QCA’s fee estimates for the provision of regulatory services for 2022-32.
We approved the proposal on 25 August 2022. The revised reference tariffs took effect on 1 September 2022.
On 26 July 2021, Aurizon Network applied to adjust reference tariffs for 2021–22 under an endorsed variation event, seeking a change in the QCA levy associated with a variation in the QCA fees.
We were satisfied that the requirements for an endorsed variation event were met and approved the applications on 19 August 2021. The revised reference tariffs took effect on 1 September 2021
Endorsed variation events—AT5 reference tariff and QCA levy, 2020–21
On 17 July 2020, Aurizon Network applied to adjust reference tariffs for 2020–21 as a result of two endorsed variation events. Aurizon Network sought a change to the AT5 tariff arising from a change in the pricing from a transmission entity, and a change to the QCA levy associated with a variation in the QCA fees.
We were satisfied in both cases that the requirements for an endorsed variation event were met and approved the applications on 20 August 2020. The revised reference tariffs took effect on 1 September 2020.
