Our role in water

Drinking water supply and wastewater management are essential for the community. Water is also key input into agriculture, livestock farming, forestry, energy production, industry and tourism.

Broadly, our role in the water industry relates to:

• undertaking price monitoring investigations
• investigating the pricing practices of declared monopoly businesses
• mediating access and supply disputes.

We have investigated or monitored the activities of:

• Queensland Urban Utilities
• Unitywater
• Gold Coast City Council
• Logan City Council
• Redland City Council
• Seqwater
• SunWater
• Gladstone Area Water Board

These processes cover urban bulk water, urban retail water and irrigation schemes.
