On 31 March 2026, Aurizon Network sought approval that the proposed Moranbah North Rail Realignment project not be treated as an expansion for the purposes of its access undertaking (UT5). Aurizon Network also sought confirmation of its proposed treatment of asset values in the regulatory asset base.
On 23 April 2026, we advised Aurizon Network that we see some merit in the proposed approach, pending stakeholders’ views.
We invite stakeholders to make submissions on Aurizon Network’s proposal and our preliminary views by 21 May 2026.
