We found no evidence of an exercise of monopoly power by either Queensland Urban Utilties or Unitywater in the 2012–13 period.

Information templates and accompanying guidelines were provided to assist entities to prepare their submissions for 2012–13 price monitoring.
We were directed to monitor the prices charged by Queensland Urban Utilities and Unitywater in 2012–13.
Queensland Urban Utilities (QUU) was formed on 1 July 2010 and provides water and wastewater services to the central region of Southeast Queensland.
Unitywater was formed on 1 July 2010 and provides water and wastewater services to the northern region of Southeast Queensland.
Allconnex Water was disamalgamated into the Gold Coast, Logan and Redland City Councils. These Councils were not referred to us for review for 2012–13.
