System rules elaborate on the network management principles contained in Schedule G of Aurizon Network’s 2016 access undertaking. They specify the way Aurizon Network will plan, schedule and control the operation of train services on the coal systems, and demonstrate capacity.
Review of the system rules 2018
Aurizon Network must review its system rules at least annually under the 2016 access undertaking (clause 7A.2.4).
Aurizon Network submitted its review on 3 December 2018, proposing to make no amendment to the system rules at this time, but to run a consultation workshop in December 2018. The workshop is to address all matters raised by stakeholders in Aurizon Network’s consultation on this review of the system rules.

Review of the system rules 2017
On 14 September 2017 the QCA released its decision to accept Aurizon Network’s proposed system rules. The QCA received two submissions on Aurizon Network’s proposal, from the Queensland Resources Council and Pacific National.
The system rules came into effect on Monday, 6 November 2017.

11 April 2017— Aurizon Network submitted its proposed system rules for the Central Queensland Coal Network
19 May 2017— the period for stakeholder submissions on Aurizon Network’s proposed system rules closed. The QCA received submissions from the Queensland Resources Council and Pacific National.
14 September 2017—The QCA released its decision to approve Aurizon Network’s proposed system rules.
