Emails sent in error

At approximately 8 pm on 29 October 2019, the web developers of our new site made an error while configuring our new email subscription system. This resulted in a generic email being sent to all subscribers requesting confirmation of their subscription.

This email can be ignored and deleted.

While configuring the email on our test site, the default option to require double opt-in—a general data protection regulation (GDPR) requirement—was left selected. When the developers imported the QCA subscription list, the system automatically emailed all subscribers to request subscription confirmation. The server was taken offline as soon as this behaviour was identified. However, a significant portion of our subscribers had already been contacted.

We apologise for any confusion created by this email and assure all subscribers that there was no breach and all stakeholder information remains secure.
