Irrigation Prices for SunWater Schemes: 2012-17
SunWater provides water supply services to agricultural, industrial, urban and rural users. The current price path for irrigators commenced on 1 July 2006 and is scheduled to end on 30 June 2011. In June 2011, the Queensland Government extended this price path by one year to 30 June 2012.
Investigation
The Premier and the Treasurer originally directed the Authority to recommend irrigation prices to apply to SunWater water supply schemes from 1 July 2011 through to 30 June 2016.

An amended Ministers' Referral Notice now directs the Authority to recommend irrigation prices to apply to SunWater water supply schemes from 1 July 2012 to 30 June 2017.

To ensure all stakeholders have adequate opportunity to identify and comment on relevant issues, the Authority has an ongoing consultation program with customers of each relevant water supply scheme.
Issues Papers have been prepared to provide a background for subsequent comment by stakeholders and, in some instances, to provide guidance for SunWater on key issues related to its submission. Issues Papers relevant to the amended Ministers' Referral Notice are available here.
Submissions are invited relating to issues which stakeholders consider should be addressed as part of the investigation. Subject to any confidentiality claims, all reports and submissions will be made publicly available, including on the Authority's website.
Stakeholders who have not already done so are invited to register their interest in participating in future local stakeholder meetings, and in receiving reports related to the investigation.
The Authority has received SunWater's Network Service Plans for each of the 22 bulk water supply schemes and 8 distribution systems relevant to the amended Ministers' Referral Notice. The Authority also has received relevant supporting submissions from SunWater.

Round 3 Stakeholder Consultation Meetings on the Draft Report and draft prices were held from 21 November 2011 to 9 December 2011. The timetable is available here.

Timetable
The Authority has been directed to provide to the Ministers:
- a Draft Report and draft prices by 31 October 2011 ; and
- a Final Report and recommended prices by 30 April 2012.
