Irrigation Prices for Seqwater Schemes: 2013-17
Seqwater provides bulk water services to urban, industrial and agricultural users in South East Queensland. Seqwater operates seven water supply schemes providing irrigation services, six of which were transferred from SunWater in 2008.
Investigation
The Authority has been directed under Section 23 of the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) QCA Act 1997 to recommend irrigation prices to apply to certain Seqwater water supply schemes from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2017.
The water supply schemes are:
- Central Lockyer Valley;
- Lower Lockyer Valley;
- Logan River;
- Warrill Valley;
- Mary Valley;
- Cedar Pocket; and
- Central Brisbane River.

The Authority is required to provide a Draft Report by 30 November 2012 and a Final Report by 30 April 2013.
Seqwater’s Network Service Plans and Related Submission
On 30 April 2012, Seqwater provided a submission, documenting its proposed methodology for estimating irrigation prices.
Seqwater also provided a Network Service Plan (NSP) and Tariff Group Summary for each Water Supply Scheme.

Stakeholder Submissions & Consultation
The Authority wishes to ensure that all stakeholders have an opportunity to identify and comment on relevant issues and to review the Authority’s proposals. The Authority’s Final Report relating to its investigation of SunWater’s proposed irrigation prices may assist stakeholders in preparing submissions and is available here.
Stakeholders are invited to register their interest in participating in future local stakeholder meetings, and in receiving reports related to the investigation. The Authority will be holding its first round of consultation meetings in June 2012. Stakeholders are encouraged to attend and submit their initial concerns and responses to Seqwater’s Network Service Plans and related submissions.
Submissions will be released to the public unless deemed to be confidential and not in the public interest to do so. Submissions are due by 16 July 2012.
