Review Event - Central Queensland Flooding

QR Network’s undertaking provides for a review of reference tariffs (i.e. a review event) in the event of damage that is expected to cost greater than $1 million and which is caused by either:

  1. an act of God; or
  2. a fire, flood, earthquake, washaway, landslide, explosion or other catastrophe, epidemic and quarantine restriction.

QR Network submitted a review event application relating to a pass through of the costs associated with flooding in central Queensland in December 2010 and January 2011.

In it, QR Network’s proposed flood event application sought to recover $7.9 million through an adjustment to the AT2-4 reference tariff component for Blackwater and Moura systems during the 2012-13 financial year.

The Authority has now approved QR Network’s proposed cost claims.

The Authority’s decision document and other information on QR Network’s application can be viewed below.
