2006 Access Undertaking Amendments + Activities

Queensland Rail’s (QR) 2006 Access Undertaking came into effect on 30 June 2006 and is due to expire in 2009. The access undertaking sets out the terms and conditions under which QR will provide access to rail infrastructure covered by the undertaking. It also addresses the process required for an access seeker to negotiate access to the infrastructure and how any disputes in relation to access are to be resolved.

The access undertaking identifies a broad range of activities that QR is obliged to undertake during the course of the undertaking.

In addition, once approved, aspects of the undertaking may be subject to amendment through a draft amending process under the QCA Act. Prior to any such amendments being approved or rejected, the Queensland Competition Authority consults with stakeholders on the matters.
