Gas Industry Code

The Gas Industry Code sets out rules for gas retailers and distributors including service obligations to customers, marketing conduct and the provision of information to customers.

The current version of the Code is version 4. This version came into effect on 26 August 2011. A copy of the latest version of the Code can be downloaded below.

The Gas Supply Act 2003 requires that the Authority enforce the provisions of the Code. In the case of a material contravention of the Code, the process the Authority will follow is set out in the Authority's Guidelines for Pursuing Civil Penalties and Referring Matters to the Regulator in Relation to Industry Code Contraventions. The latest version of the Guidelines can be downloaded below.
