Conduct Rules

The Electricity Act 1994 gives the Queensland Competition Authority the power to prepare and enforce conduct rules for electricity entities.

Mindful of the existence of a number of regulatory mechanisms already in place which control the conduct of service providers, the Authority released an issues paper in February 2000 seeking submissions from interested parties as to the need for specific rules and the form that any such rules would take.

In its Final Determination on the Regulation of Electricity Distribution (2001) the Authority found that there was no requirement to introduce any conduct rules.
