Distribution Pricing
Prescribed Distribution Services - Pricing Principles
The Distribution Network Service Providers' (DNSP) Pricing Principles Statements (PPS) outline the objectives of, and method for determining, prices for prescribed distribution services.
Both DNSPs revised their PPS ahead of proposing prices for 2008-09.
Energex will extend time of use (ToU) prices to all large customers with interval meters for 2008-09. This is in addition to existing small business ToU prices. It has also removed discussion on the pricing of non-DUOS services, which are now subject to a separate regulatory regime.
Ergon Energy has removed discussion on the pricing of non-DUOS services from its revised PPS. Otherwise, it made no significant changes to its PPS for 2008-09.
A number of pricing options that are to be explored for possible implementation over the medium term were discussed by both DNSPs. During 2008-09, Energex will be running a trial of kilo Volt Amps (kVA) pricing for large customers to assess the prospects for introducing kVA based pricing in the future.
