Excluded Distribution Services - Pricing Principles

In its 2007 Final Decision on the Review of Excluded Distribution Services, the Authority required Energex and Ergon Energy to submit for approval a Pricing Principles Statement (PPS) for excluded distribution services.

Prior to the Final Decision, the pricing principles and methods for these services were included in the PPSs the distributors are required to prepare for prescribed distribution services.

The Final Decision required that prices for excluded distribution services should be set consistent with the following broad pricing principles:

1. prices should be cost-reflective, with costs allocated to the excluded service in accordance with the approved Cost Allocation Methods and Procedures; and
2. prices should be subsidy-free, economically efficient and reflect current industry practices and costs.
