Distribution Loss Factors

Distribution Loss Factors (DLFs) represent the average electrical energy losses incurred when electricity is transmitted over a distribution network.

Following recent changes to the National Electricity Rules (see version 18), responsibility for approving DLFs proposed by the Queensland distribution network service providers (DNSP) transferred from the Queensland Competition Authority to the Australian Energy Regulator.

Information on the DNSP's methodology for calculating their DLFs and approved DLFs can be found on the AER's website.
