2005 Distribution Review

The prices set by the 2001 Distribution Review expired on 30 June 2005. In 2003, the Queensland Competition Authority commenced a review into the regulatory arrangements that will apply to Queensland’s Electricity Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSP) for the 5 year regulatory period commencing on 1 July 2005. In accordance with National Electricity Rules requirements, the Authority also undertook a review into the form of regulation to be applied for that regulatory period.

In conducting the review, the Authority commissioned several independent reports and released a number of issues papers on related topics, and considered submissions from stakeholders received in response to these papers.

The Authority released its Final Determination on the Regulation of Electricity Distribution in April 2005, detailing the arrangements which will apply from 1 July 2005 until 30 June 2010.
