Electricity Industry Code
The Electricity Industry Code sets out rules for electricity retailers and distributors including service obligations to customers, marketing conduct and the provision of information to customers. The Code also provides rules on the management of distribution businesses, metering practices and the services between retailers and distributors.
There are three documents annexed to the Code. Annexure A is a Standard Connection Contract for small customers. Annexure B is the Standard Retail Contract for a small customer who has not signed a Negotiated Retail Contract. Annexure C contains a default Co-ordination Agreement between electricity distributors and retailers in providing services to retail customers.
The current version of the Code is version 7. This version came into effect on 31 July 2010.
Version 7 of the Code includes the latest amendments resulting from the Authority's Final Decision on Amendments to the Electricity Industry Code requiring prior notice for price changes. More information on the review can be found here.
