Notified Electricity Prices 2008-09

Interim Consultation Notice

The Queensland Competition Authority released an Interim Consultation Notice seeking submissions from interested parties on the calculation of the Benchmark Retail Cost Index (BRCI) to be used to adjust regulated retail electricity prices for 2008-09.

In particular, the Authority sought comment on the following components of the BRCI:

  • the cost of energy;
  • network costs;
  • retail costs; and
  • the electricity load of Queensland.

Nine submissions were received in response.
