Interim Consultation Notice

The Authority has released an Interim Consultation Notice seeking submissions from interested parties on the calculation of a Benchmark Retail Cost Index (BRCI) to be used to escalate regulated retail electricity prices.

In particular, the Authority is seeking comment on the following components of the BRCI:

• the cost of energy;
• network costs;
• retail costs; and
• the electricity load of Queensland.

Key issues and questions in the calculation of these components of the BRCI are highlighted in an attachment to the Interim Consultation Notice, which can be viewed below.
