Notified Electricity Prices 2012-13

Draft Methodology Paper

On 11 November 2011, the Authority released its Draft Methodology Paper which sets out the Authority’s preliminary views and proposed approaches to determining the key elements of regulated retail tariffs and prices, with a particular focus on estimating energy and retail costs (the R component). It also sets out the Authority’s proposed approach to recovering the R component through notified prices, discusses issues relating to Energex’s proposed network tariffs for 2012-13 and addresses a number of other issues.

The Authority engaged ACIL Tasman (ACIL) to provide expert advice on estimating energy costs to be included in the R component of regulated retail tariffs for 2012-13. ACIL provided a report on a proposed approach to estimating energy costs.

On 25 November 2011, the Authority conducted a public workshop to discuss its Draft Methodology Paper and the Draft Methodology Report prepared by ACIL. Information and presentations from the workshop can be accessed below.

Submissions in response to the Authority’s Draft Methodology Paper closed on 9 December 2011 and those received can be accessed below.
