Criteria for the Identification of Non-Government Monopoly Business Activities

Recent amendments to the Queensland Competition Authority Act 1997 extend the existing prices oversight regime to certain non-government monopoly business activities. The amendments require the Authority to develop criteria for use by the Premier and the Treasurer for deciding whether to declare a non-government business activity to be a monopoly business activity and to refer it to the Authority for prices oversight.
