Complaints

Coachtrans against QR

Sita Queensland Pty Ltd (trading as Coachtrans Australia) lodged a complaint against prices charged by Queensland Rail (QR), as well as certain procedural and regulatory advantages enjoyed by QR. The Queensland Competition Authority concluded that the prices charged did breach the principle of competitive neutrality but did not accept that QR enjoyed procedural or regulatory advantages in a manner that breached the principle of competitive neutrality. The Ministers rejected the Authority’s decision in respect of prices but accepted the Authority’s findings in respect of the procedural and regulatory matters.
