Third Party Access

Access Codes

Access codes are regulations under the Queensland Competition Authority Act 1997 which guide the Queensland Competition Authority’s assessment of undertakings and the conduct of any arbitration relating to declared services.

They provide a means of "filling" identified gaps that arise from applying a generic regime to a particular class of service, such as rail infrastructure. There is no requirement, however, for an access code to be made for any declared service. There are currently no access codes under the Queensland Competition Authority Act.
