Upper Condamine

  • Upper Condamine

The Upper Condamine water supply scheme utilises Sandy Creek, the Condamine River and the Condamine North Branch. It is supplied by the Leslie Dam, a mass concrete gravity dam that was constructed in two stages, with the second stage in 1986 doubling the storage capacity of the dam to 106,300ML.

The scheme has a total of 100 bulk customers that use irrigation to grow a variety of crops, including cotton, sorghum, maize, soybean, sunflower, barley, oats, wheat, canary grass and lucerne.

SunWater uses a network of hydrographical gauging stations for scheduling water deliveries to irrigators.
