This scheme has a total of 31 bulk customers. The Chinchilla Weir, on the Condamine River, is the central water infrastructure. With a storage capacity of 9,780ML, it supplies local irrigators upstream and downstream of the weir as follows:
upstream – through the pond created by the weir
downstream – from water releases from the weir.
Water from the scheme is available to irrigate farmland growing cereal and melons, as well as fodder and pasture crops.
The town of Chinchilla also gets its water supply from this scheme.
