Standard Rail Connection Agreement

Standard Rail Connection Agreement

  • Project Introduction

On 14 December 2012, the QCA made a final decision to not approve the proposal, setting out how Aurizon Network should amend the proposal.  Aurizon Network subsequently submitted an amended proposal, but this did not strictly comply with the QCA's final decision.

Thus, the QCA developed, and subsequently approved, its own proposed SRCA.

The SRCA applies from 24 April 2013. Accordingly, unless otherwise agreed, any future rail connection agreements entered into during the term of the 2010 access undertaking must be consistent with the terms of the SRCA.

Aurizon Network and a private infrastructure owner may agree to terms and conditions that differ from the SRCA, but in the event that negotiations fail, the Authority will have regard to the SRCA in resolving a dispute.
