The QCA was directed in September 2012 to report on the financial and economic impacts on Queensland of the proposed National Reform on Commercial Vessel Safety.

Assessment of Proposed Repeal of Water Saving Regulations

The QCA was directed in September 2012 to investigate and report on proposed amendments to the Building Regulation 2006 regarding the repeal of Queensland Development Code mandatory requirements for water tanks and other water saving devices that apply to new houses and commercial and industrial buildings.

The QCA reviewed analysis undertaken by Queensland Government departments of the financial impacts of the current rainwater tank requirements and the benefit of deferred infrastructure, and calculated a net cost of mandatory requirements for water tanks to homeowners and businesses in South East Queensland of $1.13 billion.
