On 26 August 2015 the QCA released draft enforcement guidelines for stakeholder consultation. The revised enforcement guidelines were updated to reflect the introduction of the National Energy Customer Framework (NECF) and to refine our approach to enforcement.
After considering issues raised in submissions we have published new enforcement guidelines. The final guidelines, which take effect from 26 October 2015, include the expectation that businesses will provide an initial notification of any breach, or potential breach, within two business days. Where this does not occur, the QCA is less likely to consider an informal, or administrative, approach to enforcement.
