Credit support guidelines

Prior to 1 July 2015 The Electricity Act 1994 and the Queensland Competition Authority Act 1997 required the QCA to develop guidelines for credit support arrangements between electricity retailers and distributors.  The Australian Energy Regulator is now responsible for this matter.

Credit support arrangements provide a guarantee to distributors that retailers are able to pay for network services.  While these arrangements are negotiated between retailers and distributors, prior to 1 July 2015 any agreement had to be consistent with guidelines determined by the QCA.
