Rules and Regulations
We are responsible for enforcing and administering the Electricity Industry Code.
The electricity industry is governed by the Electricity Act 1994. The Electricity Industry Code was established under the Electricity Act and governs many aspects of the relationship between retailers, distributors and customers.
For example, the Electricity Code governs issues like retailer marketing, how a retailer bills you, when it is (and isn't) allowed to disconnect electricity and its responsibility to assist customers in financial hardship.
The Electricity Code also sets minimum service standards that distributors must meet.
