In line with government guidelines a number of information requirements, which previously formed part of the annual report, are now provided online.

Information Systems and Recordkeeping

The vast majority of the QCA’s records are held electronically. We rely on our record management processes to be able to quickly and reliably access our business documents. The QCA’s Information Handling Officer ensures staff are confident in the use of our systems and provides on-going support for users of our information.

In maintaining these records, we comply with the provisions of Public Records Act 2002, Information Standard 40 (Recordkeeping) and Information Standard 31 (Retention and Disposal of Public Records).

Overseas travel

The QCA had no overseas travel for the financial year 2013–14.

Consultancies and Specialist Services

From time to time, the QCA engages external consultants to provide expert advice to assist us to make decisions or to take a certain course of action. Routinely the consultants engaged provide legal, engineering, economic modelling, and other necessary skills to compliment the skills and knowledge held within the QCA.

All specialist consultancies are offered under the terms and conditions offered in our standard Consultancy Agreement and in accordance with Queensland Government’s State Purchasing Policy.

Total expenditure on specialist services during 2013–14 was $3,316,007.
